Modern Courtyard Retreat
A compact courtyard turned into a calm, modern retreat with stone paving, lush planting, and warm evening lighting.
Islamabad, Pakistan
Project Overview
The homeowners wanted to turn an unused courtyard into a peaceful space for morning coffee and evening gatherings. The area was small, shaded, and surrounded by high walls.
The Challenge
- Limited space and low natural light
- Poor drainage after heavy rain
- A need for privacy without making the space feel closed in
Our Solution
We designed a clean, modern layout using light stone paving to brighten the area. Shade-loving plants, vertical green walls, and large planters added colour and softness. A hidden drainage system solved the water problem, and soft LED lighting made the courtyard welcoming after dark.
Key Features
- Natural stone paving
- Vertical garden wall
- Built-in seating with storage
- Low-maintenance, shade-tolerant planting
- Warm accent lighting
The Result
The courtyard is now the family’s favourite spot in the house, a private green retreat that feels much larger than it is.
