Hillside Garden Terraces

A steep slope transformed into terraced garden levels with stone retaining walls, native plants, and sweeping valley views.

Murree, Pakistan

Project Overview

This hillside property had beautiful views but a steep, unusable slope that suffered from soil erosion. The owners wanted a garden they could walk through and enjoy.

The Challenge

  • A steep gradient that limited access
  • Soil erosion during the rainy season
  • Strong winds and cooler temperatures

Our Solution

We built a series of stone retaining walls to create stable terraces, connected by gentle steps and winding paths. Native, hardy plants with deep roots were chosen to hold the soil and handle the local climate. A small seating area at the top lets the owners enjoy the view.

Key Features

  • Three-level stone terraces
  • Natural stone steps and pathways
  • Native, erosion-controlling planting
  • Integrated drainage channels
  • Viewpoint seating area

The Result

What was once an unusable slope is now a layered garden that protects the land, supports local plants, and makes the most of the scenery.
